A 24-year-old woman presents for her annual checkup and Pap smear. Her partner is using condoms for contraception. She has no symptoms suggesting a problem within her genital tract. Her menstrual cycles are each four weeks long. Her last menstrual period was two weeks ago. On vaginal examination there is a cystic swelling, about 4cm in diameter, in the region of her right ovary. Which one of the following is the most appropriate next step in managment?
(A) Advise her that the mass is a physiologic cyst and that no treatment or further review is required.
(B) See her again in six weeks and arrange an ultrasound examination if the cyst is still present
(C) Advise her that laparoscopic drainage of the cyst is necessary now
(D) Arrange an ultrasound examination now
(E) Arrange a computed tomography (CT) of the pelvic region now
